Proper Use of English
I would like to endorse this excellent section of the guidelines. There are good reasons for sticking to these rules, many of which have evolved from the need to avoid misunderstanding. Each medium of communication has its own requirements and limitations, and it is important not to confuse one medium with another. Email, wikis, webpages, letters, speech and so forth, each determine a different class of media, and what is useful for one may be disadvantageous in another.
