This is looking good :)

This is a template for adding a quick application pages. To include this in a page, enter <nowiki>{{{Application|name=<appname>|image=<image address>|caption=<image caption>|...</nowiki> making sure you include <em>all</em> fields. If you want to include an empty field, use eg: <nowiki>os=|</nowiki> that is, no text between the = and the |
What's intended for the "footnotes" bit? I suspect any general/extra information about the program could just go in normal wiki text under the template?
For an example of this template, see [[Confix]] or [[Grapevine]]

How about a ''Description'' entry in the tempate for a one-line description?

=== Notes ===
Is there any way to change what happen when items in the template aren't present? An image, for example?
The whole thing is positionable with CSS. It expects to find a class: "infobox bordered", which the current stylesheet doesn't have, but I'm planning on bringing up stylesheets in a separate comment at some point.

Almost all software that is likely to appear on this wiki will be largely OS-neutral, so in that case you only need to enter anything on the OS line if it ''doesn't'' work with all the current OS versions

Also it's easy enough to have this with more information in the normal text after the template.
Well, according to the site something in the form: <nowiki>{{{fieldname|}}}</nowiki> should appear as blank, and <nowiki>{{{fieldname|something else}}}</nowiki> should display the something else. When I was testing it, it just showed everything after the bar, including trailing braces.

The footnotes field was already there. Feel free to remove, amend etc.

OK, I made a couple of changes. In particular I've altered the "OS" line. Great. I think this is a nice useable format. Also it's easy enough to have this with more information in the normal text after the template.

The whole thing is positionable with CSS. It expects to find a class: "infobox bordered", which the current stylesheet doesn't have, but I'm planning on bringing up stylesheets in a separate comment at some point.

Almost all software that is likely to appear on this wiki will be largely OS-neutral, so in that case you only need to enter anything on the OS line if it doesn't work with all the current OS versions
