This is some basic information pending something more detail. I do have two Acorn User issues in which the Omega was given special treatment.

Introduction

The MicroDigital was designed as a compatible replacement for the Acorn RiscPC, especially after the abandoned Acorn Phoebe project. MicroDigital later cast it as a competitor to the much more successful IYONIX. In practice, MicroDigital failed to live up to a long string of promises, and while a few were sold and are still in use today, others lost initial deposits which in some cases were only returned after much drama (need references for this).
