(Take out a bunch of stuff that really belongs on its home page. Say what is actually is - the text didn't actually say it was a RISC OS browser, and add some comparison notes. Corrections welcome.)

===General===
===About===
NetSurf is under constant development, and it is rare for there to be more than a few days' wait between development builds. Since NetSurf is open source, anyone can contribute to the project. The [[source repositories overview]] contains details about how to obtain NetSurf's source code.

NetSurf is an open source web browser for RISC OS, licensed under the GPL. Its aim is to bring the HTML 4 and CSS standards to the RISC OS platform.
Stable releases and development builds of NetSurf are available from the project's web site. Users are encouraged to help with NetSurf's development by testing the development builds and providing feedback to the development team.

Compared to other RISC OS browsers, NetSurf is notable for its speed and comprehensive support of CSS, as well as novel handling of history. The main feature missing from NetSurf is JavaScript. The RISC OS port of [[Firefox]] and NetSurf are the only RISC OS browsers with active development.
Development builds are also available via the [[RiscPkg]] package management system. To make use of the RiscPkg package, edit <code>Choices:RiscPkg.Sources</code> to include the following line of text:

<code><nowiki>pkg http://www.netsurf-browser.org/builds/riscpkg/packages</nowiki></code>

Further information is available in the RiscPkg documentation.

In addition to the NetSurf application, distributions include packaged versions of:
