I do not know how Firefox fares but NetSurf has the annoying feature of overprinting the link text with some special symbol in all links that have class="external text". Would it be possible to do something about this in the CSS?

This is unfortunately a NetSurf limitation described as "background image positions don't work on inlines" and listed as one of their problem test cases inline-background-position. I'm not sure if this can be worked around via CSS and if someone feels contributing a site CSS fix for that, we might be using this until NetSurf gets this fixed. joty 23:37, 18 July 2007 (BST)

I got and applied a patch for one of the MediaWiki .css files from tlsa which workarounds this NetSurf issue. Enjoy. joty 22:43, 19 July 2007 (BST)
