Talk:RISC OS FAQ
The RiscStation machines can still be bought from CTA-Direct so can they be put in the 'New Hardware' section?
Well, their website hasn't been updated in 6 years, and neither has their hardware, so I wouldn't bother, personally.
The site was last updated in 2003 and do still claim to be alive and trading.
Updates
Please, no links to websites that are clearly dead or have very slow updates. Just because the company claims to be alive, doesn't mean we want to link to it. The RISC OS FAQ needs to be a current and useful list, not an exhaustive list of everything that we can think of. That also means that some of the news sites listed should certainly be removed.
Concerning "These are the maximum partition sizes you may create, which are a combination of limits imposed by hardware, FileCore, FileSwitch and filing systems (ADFS, SCSIFS, etc)." : I'm not aware of any limits imposed by FileSwitch dictating the maximum partition size. AFAIK FileSwitch does not even have a concept of partition size or maximum media size. Am I missing something ? joty 21:24, 22 August 2007 (BST)
Yes. DOS formatted images which work through DOSFS are restricted to 2GB due to the maximum file size limit imposed by FileSwitch. So the maximum DOS partition on a device that can be addressed in this way is 2GB. Caliston 19:14, 24 August 2007 (BST)
ROMs
Sorry, I had to remove that. I can't encourage distribution of software that isn't licensed. In any case, the page links to RISC OS 3.11 ROMs, which are not useful for RPCEmu.
