Kirkwood

There's been some debate over what Sheeva actually is, and whether it has anything to do with XScale.

I was under the impression that Sheeva could refer to either Feroceon (Marvell's pre-XScale ARM core) or the core that actually is Sheeva (a Feroceon-derived ARM core,) and that the only XScale that Marvell currently sells is the PXA168. --Bhtooefr 13:26, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

Difficult to say, because Marvell's own information is not clear (see their CPU history). Marvell Marketing calls all new ARMs "Sheeva", but I think the single issue ARMv5 variants like the Kirkwood are actually XScale-derived while the dual-issue ones like the Discovery Innovation are Feroceon-derived. --hubersn 22:35, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
