Advantage Six developed and released the A9home in 2005.

Measuring a minuscule 168 x 103 x 53 mm, the second 32bit RISC OS Desktop computer runs RISC OS Adjust 32.

Initially, the A9home was available direct from Advantage Six for Beta Testers only, this was later extended by popular demand to experienced users. Additionally, retail sales and support are through CJE Micros.

User environments

Due to the size of the A9home, it does not accommodate any internal media drives for transfer of data to and from the machine itself, therefore prospective users need to consider how they will transfer data in and out of the computer.

The A9home is ideal as part of an existing TCP/IP network, particularly one which contains other RISC OS computers running Acorn's ShareFS. Additionally, the computer can make use of USB Mass Storage devices such as Memory Sticks or Card Readers. Also available is the optional optical drive (although this is read only as standard).

In some cases, users may choose to take the computer with them (one of the unique features of the A9home) and use it away from base rather than need to actually transfer the data off the computer for use on other equipment (just think, no worrying about whether the other equipment has the right software on it!).
