Dave Higton has recently been doing a great deal of work on implementing CMOS "RAM" on the BeagleBoard. The full solution is ultimately intended to allow read/write of the on-board SD card by RISC OS.

As in interim measure while the full solution is developed, Dave has also been able to boot with different CMOS settings. This works by loading the settings into memory before the RISC OS ROM is initialised.

As ever, further testing and developer help is probably welcomed.

The read code now built in to the ROM is working!

And progress is being made on writing too. When finished, this should be useful for ARMini owners, who will no longer have to use convoluted methods to update their ROM image.
