Sooner or later I hope to have a look at Ghostscript again but I 
invested a considerable amount of time building 8.70 recently and did 
not find it fit for release. For some reason, it seemed to use three 
times the amount of memory compared to 8.54, which made it impractical 
to use on 26-bit machines. Even a simple A4 page at screen resolution 
would need more memory than the allowed WimpSlot.

So far, I have always done all the builds manually and from scratch, 
but I will have a look at the state of the autobuilder port, which 
should hopefully simplify things.
