Technical Issues with riscos.info
Is this the right place to talk about technical issues with this website?
If so - how come the time given for contributions seems to be out? For instance, as I right this it's 22:32 GMT on the 3rd but the time according to riscos.info is: Adamr 00:21, 4 Feb 2007 (GMT)
riscos.info/www.riscos.info
riscos.info seems to refer to itself throughout as riscos.info. However, 'riscos.info' doesn't work - you need to use 'www.riscos.info'. It would be a slight usability improvement if either URL worked. Could this minor change be made, please? Simon Smith 16:21, 20 July 2007 (BST)
What test are you doing in order to reach for the conclusion "'riscos.info' doesn't work" ? As all 'riscos.info' URLs get automatically redirected to 'www.riscos.info' and do work. joty 18:42, 20 July 2007 (BST)
Plain h ttp://riscos.info has never worked for me, and it still doesn't even now. Presumably an ISP issue. My ISP is Zen Internet. My own web site (simon-smith.org) has always worked with or without the www, as do several other sites I frequent, so I'd assumed riscos.info was failing due to a config oversight. I will try from another ISP (ntlworld/Virgin, I think) when I next get the opportunity. But I'm surprised I've never experimented with both combinations from there, and if I had I'd certainly have noticed if I got the same behaviour as you do. Update to follow in a few days. Actually I figured out that it is a Firefox browser feature to prefix the URL with www. when the given domainname does not exist. I suppose riscos.info could be supported by DNS reconfiguration but that's something for Peter to do. joty 13:57, 21 July 2007 (BST)
http://riscos.info/
Now redirects to http://www.riscos.info/
My apache config has become quite complex :|
Um, isn't it a DNS change that's required, not a local change? Simon Smith 12:45, 24 July 2007 (BST)
Listing on Wikipedia's 'List of wikis'
Should this wiki be included in this list on Wikipedia? I'm happy to add it, but I don't know the number of articles or the license. --Trevj 15:27, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
