Unfortunately, my suggestion doesn't seem to work realiby (or at all) -
despite apparently inserting the new object into the library, the
resulting output programs don't change.  To properly work, the object
file has to be removed first then inserted (which is still an
improvement).  Does someone feel like investigating?
