This article is in serious need of a cleanup, preferably by someone who knows what the current state of play is.

As it stands, it may as well not be here at all.

Yes, I've stripped it down as a temporary measure. Hopefully once the situation is cleared up, someone with knowledge of the project will update the page.

I think this page should stick to facts. There are two versions of smbserver. Also, this site should try and avoid "controversial" comments. I suggest one of the following:

  • Delete this page; or
  • Add a link to the other smbserver branch (e.g. reinstate something like this page)

Status

The page is accurate. As in the FAQ, there's no point listing every last detail. This site cannot condone totally unjustified forking.
